Movie Watch

In celebrating Indonesia’s National Hero Day, the LRC held a movie watch after-school event with students on Friday, 10 November 2023, at 1.00 pm. The activity was held at the Amphitheatre area. The movie chosen was titled, Buya Hamka. It was an Indonesian hero movie about Prof. Dr. Hamka or Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah. He played many different roles in Indonesian history, such as politics, religion, journalism, and literature. The Indonesian government awarded Hamka as a national hero for his efforts in leading the Indonesian people to struggle for their independence.

There were 8 students who attended this event. The LRC provided free snacks and one Gramedia voucher for Asencio Alfon Mulyono (HS 10B), the lucky student. In the end, the students engaged in a small discussion with the librarian regarding the story of the movie.
