A delegation of five talented BINUS SCHOOL Semarang students –
Valerie Angela Suryadi, Raphael Santoso, Kezia Vivien Utomo Oei, Farrel Athallah Santana , and Jonathan Vincent Wardono – represented BINUS SCHOOL Semarang at the SDG Summit 2024 held at BINUS SCHOOL Serpong from 29 February to 2 March 2024. The summit focused on raising awareness of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 11 and 12, which address sustainable cities and responsible consumption and production. It provided a platform for students to develop essential skills like teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking through collaborative activities, presentations, and project development. Social connections were also fostered, strengthening networks between schools across Indonesia.
The BINUS SCHOOL Semarang delegates actively participated in a variety of engaging events, including a TikTok video competition, research presentations, project development
challenges, mentorship sessions, and a public exhibition. These activities allowed them to hone their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration skills while interacting
with peers from diverse backgrounds. Through valuable interactions with industry experts and mentors, the students gained valuable insights and were inspired to contribute to a more sustainable future. Raphael Santoso’s and Valerie Angela Suryadi’s mixed-group team,
formed with students from other participating schools, secured the top spot in the summit’s presentation category. Their impressive business proposal related to SDGs 11 and 12 further propelled them to achieve the overall first-place position among all six participating groups.
This achievement signifies the exceptional quality of their project in addressing sustainable development goals.
