Supporting Local Communities, BINUS SCHOOL Semarang Publicly Facilitates Charity Programme for SD Syahidin
In fostering a strong community, our schools, including BINUS SCHOOL Semarang, step into community service where students and teachers are involved. This time, we lengthen our Community Service Program list with the SD Syahidin Charity Programme.
This charity program will not only bring sound hope for the academic civitas at SD Syahidin Semarang into reality. Rather, it’s a chance to nurture our internal community with a firm sense of social responsibility.
Our Support for Local Education Community
At BINUS SCHOOL, we conduct diverse community service with many activity types, touching every possible sector. Not only will you see our annual participation in the health and hygiene movement but also visits to orphanages and animal welfare-related events.
Each community service program requires participants from students’ parents, the students and teachers, school clubs, and the whole school community. In general, community service activities are part of Life at BINUS SCHOOL, which adheres to our vision of fostering and empowering society in terms of developing the nation.
BINUS SCHOOL Semarang identified a necessary gap between hope and reality that the academic community of SD Islam Syahidin faced at the time. While the school bodies strive to make their students’ ends meet, they certainly need some helping hands. We decided to carry out a specific charity program for this community.
A Brief about SD Syahidin
SD Islam Syahidin, located in Jalan Trajutrisno IV/220, Krobokan, Kecamatan Semarang Barat, Semarang City, was established as a private Islamic school in 1976. Despite the ups and downs they encountered, the school put its best effort into improving its educational quality and facilities.
Although the school has existed for nearly half a century, ironically, it still lacks resources and facilities to support its students’ activities. For example, whilst other fortunate students have easy access to information through their fingers, these students did not even have a library as a basic information and learning resource.
Brimming with hope, the primary students at SD Islam Syahidin are grateful for what they have in the school. Seeing their motivation and will to learn, BINUS SCHOOL Semarang has decided to initiate a helping movement through charity programs for this local primary school community.
Call for Public Support to Empower SD Syahidin
On November 13, 2024, BINUS SCHOOL Semarang launched a call for the public to support SD Islam Syahidin. By participating in this charity program, we aim to provide the students with the LRC resources they need for an improved and sustainable education.
You can either make a monetary or gently used book donations. Both are beneficial in providing support to meet the needs of our fellow primary students at SD Syahidin Semarang. To place your monetary donation, you can proceed with a bank transfer to the following account:

As for the used book donation, you can drop good-condition ones off at the assigned boxes outside LRCs in building B/C of BINUS SCHOOL Semarang.
Additional Outreach Programme of The 12th Grades with SD Syahidin
In addition to that, we also created an outreach programme for our grade 12 students with the students of SD Syahidin on November 14, 2024. Both participated in teaching and learning activities.
Through this programme, grade 12 had the opportunity to realise their potential, raise their empathy, and strengthen their sense of community.
On the other hand, the primary students of SD Islam Syahidin Semarang gained new insights, skills, and experience in technology and other education resources and facilities.
The Charity Programme for SD Syahidin is not only beneficial for its students. It’s also advantageous for the BINUS SCHOOL Semarang community since it helps expand its networking. Moreover, it sets a notorious example of the importance of building community power through social responsibility, even through the smallest act.
