Smart Minds, Strong Characters

  1. What makes the curriculum at BINUS SCHOOL Semarang special?

At BINUS SCHOOL Semarang, our Cambridge curriculum is designed to give children the best of both worlds: strong international-standard learning and the essential values of Indonesian education. During the Primary Years, children build the foundation they need for future success from thinking skills and creativity to social, emotional, and physical development. We want every child to grow into a confident, independent, and joyful learner.

  1. How do teachers support students’ learning?

Our teachers, both local and expatriate, are trained and experienced in delivering a rigorous and engaging learning programme. They guide students with care, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. The goal is to help children discover their strengths, take ownership of their learning, and develop confidence in themselves.

  1. How does the curriculum help build children’s character?

Beyond academics, we place strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and relationship-building. Through group activities and collaborative tasks, students learn empathy, responsibility, and emotional intelligence, skills that will benefit them throughout life.

  1. How does BINUS prepare children for the Middle School Programme?

Our Primary programme builds strong foundational skills; critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, creativity, and social-emotional readiness. By the time students move to Middle School, they are confident, adaptable, and ready for more advanced learning and global opportunities.

  1. What is the National Curriculum component at BINUS?

Students in Grades 5, 8, and 11 participate in the annual ANBK assessment, as required nationally. We prepare them in the key areas of numeracy, literacy, and character. This ensures that our students not only meet national standards but also excel beyond them.

Message from the Vice Principal

“At our school, we believe learning starts with wonder. When children explore with open minds and curious hearts, they discover endless possibilities. Our role as educators is to spark that excitement; helping young inventors, thinkers, and dreamers grow through joyful, hands-on experiences. Nothing compares to a child’s “aha!” moment. It reminds us that learning is not just about knowledge; it’s about celebrating small victories and keeping curiosity alive.”

– Mr. Tom (Early Years and Primary Affective Coordinator)
